Can you find out 'whodunnit' at a Christmas night with a difference?

Aspiring Sherlocks and trainee Taggarts are being invited to put their sleuthing skills to the test at a festive 'Murder Mystery Night' in Kirkintilloch.

East Dunbartonshire libraries are getting ready to open their doors after hours for a series of special events.

It all begins on Friday 1 December with 'Murder Mystery Night: The Body in the Library' at William Patrick Library, Kirkintilloch.

Whether you're a true crime expert, armchair detective or just looking for a unique Christmas night out, why not see if you can crack the case?

The evening of interactive live theatre will be hosted by Scotland’s longest-running murder mystery company, the award-winning Tentpeg Murderers, and will feature a cast of talented actors.

A Christmas party takes a dastardly turn when a terrible crime is committed, with guests challenged to channel their inner Miss Marples to gather evidence and uncover the culprit before it's too late.

It's all part of the new Library Lates initiative by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLCT), which will see local venues branch out and host alternative events in the evenings.

Tickets cost £10 per adult, including a complimentary welcome refreshment. The suspense starts at 7pm, finishing with a flourish at 9pm. Suitable for ages 13+.

Councillor Jim Gibbons, Chair of EDLCT, said,

This is a fun opportunity for people to display their detective skills while enjoying an evening of festive entertainment and hospitality – supporting local libraries into the bargain. Look out for news of more evening events soon.
