The annual event is organised by the EDLC Trust’s Swimming Development Team and attracts young people from schools across East Dunbartonshire. This year, 100 swimmers entered the competition with 22 competitors making the qualifying time for the championships which will take place at Dollan Aqua Centre on Friday 26 January 2024.

Councillor Jim Gibbons, Chair of the East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust, said,

The young people who take part in the swimming time trials work extremely hard throughout the year to compete for a place in the annual championships. It isn’t easy and I’d like to commend them for their commitment and dedication. I should also mention the contribution made by the swimmers’ families and coaches who support the young people year-round to enable them to reach their full potential.

He continued, “Many congratulations to the competitors who made the qualifying time for the Scottish Schools Swimming championships in January. I wish them very best of luck!”
