Don't 'Let it Go' – get your tickets for the latest films at the town hall

Tickets are being snapped up for the latest films at Kirkintilloch Town Hall – starring Trolls, Willy Wonka, pub patrons and potentially you (don't forget your singing voice)!

The Kirky Picture Palace has a selection of cinema attractions on offer this month:

Friday 15 March at 2pm:

Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (U) (dementia-friendly screening)
Gene Wilder stars in the original, brightly-coloured classic from 1971 about a boy who wins a Golden Ticket to visit a mysterious and magical chocolate factory. Tickets cost £5 (adult) and £3 (child), with carers allowed in for free. All welcome. Book online via the booking website or pay on the door.

Tuesday 26 March at 10am:

Frozen sing-along (PG) (baby-friendly screening)
The animated musical from Disney is back on the big screen – just make sure you bring your big singing voices! Same ticket prices as above, with under-twos allowed in for free. Book online via the booking website or pay on the door.

Saturday 30 March:

1pm – Trolls Band Together (U)
3.30pm – The Old Oak (15)
Trolls Band Together offers animated, musical fun, while The Old Oak is a moving drama about a community pulling together in the face of adversity. Film tickets – £5 per adult and £3 per child (where appropriate) – are available from the booking website and Create ED, 46 Cowgate, Kirkintilloch. There will be snacks and refreshments available to purchase.

The Kirky Picture Palace is organised by Your Kirky and supported by East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture (EDLC) Trust – which operates Kirkintilloch Town Hall.

Councillor Jim Gibbons, Chair of EDLC Trust, said,

I'm pleased to see another diverse line-up of movies available for local film fans

including special screenings for people with dementia and carers, and young children and families. The initiative is really proving popular with residents and visitors."

Serina Marshall, Cinema Co-ordinator of the Kirky Picture Palace, said, "Thanks to everyone who once again supported our community cinema in February – the feedback was excellent and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves. Thanks also again to our wonderful volunteers, who make it all possible. If you want to join the team, please get in touch."
