MILNGAVIE ART CLUB ANNUAL EXHIBITION 18 MAY - 13 JUNE 2024

Milngavie Art Club treasures its rich history and the extraordinary characters who have been associated with it across the decades. These exemplary club members include:

  • Mary & Neill Armour, founding members of Milngavie Art Club. Mary’s renown as an artist led her to become Honorary President of the Glasgow School of Art and the Royal Glasgow Institute of Fine Arts.
  • Robert Lillie, whose legacy founded Milngavie’s Lillie Gallery in 1962, which became a platform for promoting not only Milngavie Art Club, but the arts in general to the local and wider community.
  • Joan Eardley, popular Scottish artist remembered for her unique style depicted in her paintings of street children portraiture and of the Scottish landscape.

The exhibition runs from Saturday 18 May to Thursday 13 June and the gallery is open from Tuesday – Saturday 10am-1pm and 2-5pm.”

Milngavie Art Club currently operates a two-tier membership system, one for those who actively participate in exhibitions and one for those who do not. The club welcomes those with a professional or amateur interest in the arts, as an artist or as an observer. It provides the opportunity for individuals to meet like-minded people, to learn from each other and to exchange ideas. To find out more visit Milngavie Art Club website.
