Are you passionate about promoting local leisure and cultural services?

East Dunbartonshire Leisure and Culture Trust (EDLCT) has a vacancy for a voluntary Independent Director.

The successful applicant will work with partner directors and independent members of the Trust Board to oversee the delivery of local leisure and cultural services – with facilities including three leisure centres, a sports hub, eight libraries, a museum and an art gallery, as well as Kirkintilloch Town Hall and Kilmardinny House in Bearsden.

Volunteers should be knowledgeable in either or both leisure and cultural services, and/or skilled in a profession or other capacity – such as finance and audit – that would add value and support to the Board.

On average, the successful applicant will serve on the Trust Board and subgroups around eight days per year, with meetings of the Board taking place in the evening – normally in Bearsden or Kirkintilloch – although travel to other venues may be required on occasions.

The role of Independent Director is voluntary, however, they are entitled to receive costs incurred while serving, including travel (in Scotland), subsistence and all reasonable expenses.

We would like to hear from people who have an interest in public service and who are committed to promoting leisure and culture locally.
Councillor Jim Gibbons, Chair of EDLC Trust
