Business grants are being made available to help support innovation and sustainability locally.

East Dunbartonshire Council is co-ordinating two new initiatives from the UK Government's Local Growth Fund (LGF):

  • The Digital Support Grant
  • The Green Business Support Grant.

The funds are being co-ordinated locally by the Council’s Business Support service that helps start-ups and existing firms in the area.

The LGF aims to boost economic growth through three investment themes:

  • Enabling local growth infrastructure
  • Support for businesses
  • Skills and employment assistance.

The Digital Support Grant is for projects that boost digital growth, improve operational efficiency through technology, strengthen digital security, protect business data and safeguard against online threats. Grants of up to £2,500 are available.

The fund is open to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in East Dunbartonshire, and social enterprises engaged in trading activities.
Check out our digital grant webpage for details and eligibility requirements, as well as a link to an application form.

For the Digital Support Grant, applications must be made by the end of 2026 and projects completed by the end of January 2027.

The Green Business Support Grant aims to help local firms make a world of difference.

The fund will prioritise projects that reduce environmental impact, improve energy efficiency and contribute to net zero goals. Grants of up to £5,000 are available (for project costs above £2,500 the applicant must provide 50% match funding).

Again it is open to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in East Dunbartonshire, and social enterprises engaged in trading activities.
