St Cyprian’s Church Flower Show

St Cyprian’s Church in Lenzie was in full bloom this month, as it hosted its 150th Anniversary Flower Festival.

Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid was there to support the opening ceremony and the event was officially opened by Mark Billington, Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Dunbartonshire.

Depute Provost McDiarmid said,

It was a great honour to be a part of such a long-standing event at St Cyprian’s Church and the floral displays were stunning

Flowers based on church and community themes

Many of the floral arrangements were based on church and community themes and it was clear that a great deal of thought and work had gone into them. The two-day event was also supported by local musicians who were treating visitors to live music as they perused the floral displays – it was a wonderful atmosphere. It’s been 150 years since the very first Flower Festival at St Cyprian’s and I’m sure the local community will continue to enjoy this spectacular tradition for many years to come!”
