Introduction
Depute Provost Colette McDiarmid recently attended a special memorial concert to celebrate the life of the much-missed band president of The Kirkintilloch Band, Peter Fraser MBE.
The concert took place at St Mary’s Parish Church, Kirkintilloch, and was presented and compered by Frank Renton.
Depute Provost McDiarmid said, “The Kirkintilloch Band’s memorial concert was a superb evening of music and memories. I was particularly moved by the performance of ‘Keeper of the Flame’, commissioned in Peter Fraser’s memory, and composed by Peter Graham. The musicians were outstanding and it was a privilege to have been invited to attend such a very special evening.”
